Half and Half Day

Today is our half and half day -- married seven years and together fourteen. Therefore, it only made sense to do something instense, insane, and in love. Last night we set out for Maui by car. At 4am, at a rest stop just outside Salina, KS on I-70, we pulled over for two hours shared sleep and now we are again pushing West and South. The Saturn Sky and our most critical needs are wrapped around us in a form-fitting cocoon as we explore. I had done something similar 20 years ago alone by motorcycle, but Connie has only seen this country by air, albeit low altitude. It is distinctly different on the ground. Of course, that is true for points past Tucumcari, NM. Right now, our goal is to see Rock City and traverse the Plains States; hence, the hard run like when we were young. Connie is driving at the moment while I blog and update Facebook. Much has happened since our past honeymoon posts. Those who know us personally know everything and those who do not will not care beyond saying we are still deeply in love, still on our honeymoon, and still happily following a different path from the rest of the world.
